19 members signed up for the first american tournament of 2024 and competed for a Taittinger Ice Bucket trophy donated by a member and the customary Taittinger champagne.

They were split into two groups and the tournament consisted of mixed doubles matches of 8 games and was organised so that where possible each match played was with a different partner against a pair not played before. The highest scoring men and women from each group went through to the final.

There was a £2 charge to cover the cost of an appetising spread produced by Liz Dear.

At the end of the group stage, Ceil Rushin and John Harris were the highest scoring lady and man from Group1 and Liz Dear and Will Hinckley were the highest scoring lady and man from Group2.

The final was a short set played to 4 games rather than the normal 6. Liz and John were paired against Ceil and Will coming through to win 4-0 and claim the Ice Bucket trophy and a bottle of Taittinger champagne. The runners up each received a consolation prize of a tube of tennis balls. 

The next tournament will be held on Sunday 30th June.
